Skeletor and He-Man in RAID: Shadow Legends

The nostalgia is real! RAID: Shadow Legends is celebrating the Masters of the Universe franchise by bringing two iconic characters, Skeletor and He-Man, into the game. Here’s a detailed breakdown of how you can acquire these champions, their abilities, and how they can fit into your teams.

How to Get Skeletor and He-Man

    • Skeletor:
Skeletor is available for free as part of a 7-day login event, running until Christmas. This makes him accessible to all players, regardless of progression. If you log in for seven days during the event, you’ll get this legendary Knight Revenant support champion for your roster!
    • He-Man:
He-Man, unfortunately, is locked behind a Champion Pass, a premium pay-to-unlock feature. This might frustrate free-to-play players, as He-Man’s kit looks tailor-made for high-end content like Arena nuking.

    Skeletor – The Villainous Support

Skeletor is a Spirit Affinity, HP-based support champion from the Knight Revenant faction. His kit is designed for utility and debuff management, making him perfect for new and mid-game players. Here’s what he can do:

    Abilities Overview:

    • A1 – Havoc Scythe
Attacks twice, with a chance to increase the duration of a random debuff on the target. Useful for extending debuffs like decrease defense or poison.
    • A2 – Skull Comet
Single-target attack with a chance to apply Petrification (stuns non-boss enemies). Against bosses, it places a Decrease Attack and Decrease Speed debuff, both crucial for boss fights.
    • A3 – Begone Fools!
      A utility-packed AOE ability that:

      • Steals Block Debuffs and one other random buff from all enemies.
      • Applies an Increase Accuracy buff to all allies, boosting their chances of landing debuffs.
      • Decreases the enemy’s turn meter by 15%, or 30% for enemies from the Tartarian Pact faction.
    • Passive – Master of Evil
Provides bonus accuracy to Skeletor based on enemy buffs. Also applies a Decrease Resistance debuff when hit, further enabling debuff-heavy teams.

    Strengths:

    • Excellent for control and utility in PvE content.
    • Great for new players due to his mix of turn meter manipulation and accuracy boosts.
    • Can perform well in crowd control scenarios, such as Faction Wars or Doom Tower waves.

    Weaknesses:

    • His kit isn’t optimized for endgame.
    • Requires books to unlock his full potential, especially cooldown reductions.

    He-Man – The Arena Nuker

He-Man is a Magic Affinity attack champion from the Sacred Order faction. Designed as an Arena specialist, his kit emphasizes raw damage and turn meter control, with scaling based on buffs. Let’s break it down:

    Abilities Overview:

    • A1 – Eternian Slash
Single-target attack with an extra hit against enemies from the Corrupted Pact faction. Also boosts his turn meter based on the number of buffs he has.
    • A2 – Power Strike
Single-target attack that ignores Stone Skin, a common buff in high-tier Arena. If He-Man lands a kill, he fills all allies’ turn meters by 30%.
    • A3 – I Have the Power!
A devastating AOE attack that scales with the number of buffs on He-Man. It can deal up to 500% more damage based on buffs, making it perfect for Arena nukes.
    • Passive – Master of the Universe
Increases He-Man’s Attack and HP by 5% for every buff on him (up to 50%). Also makes him immune to Petrification and applies Strengthen to him under certain conditions.
    • Aura: Increases ally speed in Arena battles by 28%.

    Strengths:

    • Arena dominance: AOE scaling damage combined with turn meter boosts for allies makes him an excellent nuker.
    • Counters Stone Skin, one of the most problematic buffs in Arena.
    • High scalability in buff-heavy teams.

    Weaknesses:

    • He’s gated behind a paywall, limiting access for most players.
    • Relies on having multiple buffs to unlock his true damage potential.

    Comparing the Two Champions

Aspect Skeletor (Free) He-Man (Champion Pass)
Role Support Damage Dealer / Arena Nuker
Accessibility Free (7-Day Login Event) Pay-to-Play (Champion Pass)
Best Use PvE, early to mid-game content PvP, high-tier Arena battles
    Affinity Spirit Magic
Strengths Utility, accuracy boosts, debuff control Raw damage, turn meter boosts, anti-Stone Skin
Weaknesses Lacks endgame viability, requires books Gated behind paywall, buff reliant

    Final Thoughts

    • Skeletor is a solid addition for most players, particularly those in the early or mid-game stages. He’s not a top-tier champion, but his free legendary status makes him a no-brainer to collect during the event.
    • He-Man, while incredibly powerful in Arena, being locked behind the Champion Pass limits his accessibility to paying players. It’s a disappointing decision, especially given his potential and the nostalgia factor.

    Pro Tips:

    • Make the most of Skeletor’s utility and control by pairing him with champions who can inflict heavy debuffs.
    • If you do purchase He-Man, prioritize buff-heavy teams to maximize his damage potential in Arena.

What are your thoughts on these Masters of the Universe champions? Are you excited to add Skeletor to your team? Let us know in the comments below!
